  1. Choose nice, plump raspberries.
  2. Remove the stems.
  3. Take a 5 – 6 qt glass jar with a larger opening.
  4. Place a layer of raspberries, a layer of sugar, alternating between the two and taking care that the last layer is sugar.
  5. Add vanilla, vodka, rum and cover the opening with cellophane or parchment paper.
  6. Place in a sunny place.
  7. Keep for 3 – 4 weeks, shaking the jar every 2 – 3 days.
  8. Serve with or without the raspberries.
